Umpire Information

As we approach the upcoming season, we are looking for individuals that are interested in calling the shots and becoming an umpire for Firelands Baseball & Softball Hot Stove!

All umpires are paid per game, and fee varies by division.

All rules are the official Lorain County Hot Stove.

Our umpires will be scheduled to umpire for Firelands Hot Stove Home Games only located at our fields in South Amherst.

Lorain County Hot Stove offers FREE classes for all umpires at the beginning of each year.

Umpire Clinic Dates (all umpire classes are free):

Baseball & Softball Clinic - March 5, 2023 1:00pm - 5:00pm at the American Legion located on Ohio Street in Elyria.
Baseball ONLY Clinic - March 19, 2023 1:00pm - 5:00pm at the American Legion located on Ohio Street in Elyria.
Softball ONLY Clinic - March 26, 2023 1:00pm - 5:00pm at the American Legion located on Ohio Street in Elyria.

Umpire Pay

All umpires are paid per game, and fee varies by division.

Baseball Umpire Rate of pay:

Farm (ages 5-6) - $60 per game
Class I (ages 7-8) - $60 per game
Class HH (ages 9) - $80 for 1 umpire per game / $65 for 2 umpires per game
Class H (ages 9-10) - $80 for 1 umpire per game / $65 for 2 umpires per game
Class G (ages 11-12) - $85 for 1 umpire per game / $70 for 2 umpires per game
Class F (ages 13-14) -$85 for 1 umpire per game / $70 for 2 umpires per game

Softball Umpire Rate of pay:

Farm Minor (ages 5-6) - $60 per game
Farm Major (ages 7-8) - $60 per game
Class A (ages 9-10) - $80 for 1 umpire per game / $65 for 2 umpires per game
Class B (ages 11-12) - $85 for 1 umpire per game / $70 for 2 umpires per game
Class C (ages 13-14) -$85 for 1 umpire per game / $70 for 2 umpires per game
